CBT Therapist and Chartered Psychologist. Where mental health, justice, and social change meet.
I am Edília, a CBT Therapist and Chartered Psychologist integrating clinical practice, forensic psychology, and social justice. I believe psychological distress is inseparable from the systems and structures shaping our daily lives.
I specialise in trauma from domestic abuse, migration, and inequality. I bring this same non-judgmental, compassionate care to everyone I work with, including men.
My background studying violence and systemic disadvantage in forensic contexts means I understand complexity—and I know the immense courage it takes to ask for help.

I work using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) within a trauma-informed framework. This means we work with your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours - but always with an awareness of the broader context that has shaped your experiences. Therapy with me is collaborative, honest, and grounded in respect for your pace.
I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Many of the people I work with have faced not only personal pain but systemic barriers - discrimination, displacement, injustice. I work to create a space that feels genuinely safe, culturally aware, and free from judgment.
Sessions are delivered online, making therapy accessible wherever you are - across the UK and internationally, including for Portuguese-speaking clients worldwide.
A distinctive combination of academic rigour, clinical training, and lived professional experience.

I work with adults (18+) online, across the UK and internationally. My clients come from many different backgrounds, cultures, and life stages — what they share is a desire to understand themselves more deeply and move forward.
I work with people experiencing depression, anxiety, and complex emotional difficulties, particularly those connected to domestic abuse, discrimination, migration, and relational trauma. I also work with men, and welcome clients navigating identity, cultural adjustment, and the aftermath of difficult or unjust systems.
For Portuguese-speaking clients based in the UK, Europe, Africa, or elsewhere — I offer therapy and consultancy in Portuguese, in a space that understands your cultural context.
